Welcome to the Due Diligence section.

We start this section by talking about what due diligence is, defining it. What is it? Why is it important? Who is needed? How long might you have to do your due diligence? Then we’re going to be talking about the home inspection process. And actually, I walked through a video of a actual home inspection, talking through some of the high points, things to be aware of, things to be on the lookout for, questions to ask. Start to finish what the home inspection process looks like.

Then we’ll be diving into comps or comparables, income verification, and then document review. All of the steps from soup to nuts that you want to be aware of when it comes to doing due diligence for rental properties, or frankly, any property you’re going to be purchasing for that matter. It doesn’t have to be specific for rental real estate. Of course, that’s the emphasis, but due diligence for a primary residence or a vacation home. is often going to be very similar. We might just be a little less concerned with the numbers or the income side of things, the income potential side of things. So definitely not one to skimp out on, because due diligence could definitely save your behind from buying a bad investment.
